The Mavericks want to re-sign Jason Kidd, but several teams are expected to
make a play for the point guard.
Free agency officially opens on Wednesday, and the Cavaliers, Trail Blazers,
Celtics, Knicks, and possibly even the Lakers are expected to show interest.
New York can only offer the mid-level exception, worth between $5 and $6
million, while Portland is the only one of the aforementioned clubs with
sizable cap room.
Dallas has maintained that re-signing Kidd is a priority.
