Now with Rose out for a while, the Linsanity man might need a new team when free agency starts. That alone has many fans thinking he deserves a full season to prove he's the real deal. Others though think New York should do what Woodson wants and build the roster around scorer Carmelo Anthony. One move that has received notice is going after 37-year-old Steve Nash. A surefire Hall of Fame point guard, Nash is the perfect person to run the Knicks offense because of his rare passing skills. After hearing the surgery to repair the torn ACL of the 2011 league MVP, the doctor who operated on Derrick Rose stated it would take between 8 and 12 months for him to fully recover. This leaves a gaping hole in the Bulls roster. Rose was the main offense the team had for their championship hopes. Without him the Chicago front office has some serious thinking to do about its own roster heading into NBA free agency. Current backup C.J. Watson is an option but proved in the playoffs he can't carry the load. Star guard Deron Williams likely will join the Dallas Mavericks. The only other option rests with clearing cap space to go after center Dwight Howard who may not re-sign with the Orlando Magic. To do that they would have to use amnesty on starting forward Carlos Boozer and let a number of free agents walk. It's not the best choice for Bulls executives, but a few wonder what would happen if they brought Lin in on a one-year rental. Early in his time in New York, the young Taiwanese-American proved he could score, and that was with a banged up Knicks roster.
