Alessandro Del Piero has admitted that his goal celebration
in Italy's win over Germany was filled with more anger than joy.
The Juventus captain erupted after sliding the ball into the back
of the net with the last kick of the game to see the Azzurri
through to the World Cup Final.
“My celebration was more anger than joy at first,
caused by many things it's better not to talk about now,
but it turned into happiness for this Final,” he said.
Del Piero說”「我的慶祝是宣洩忿怒多過於表達快樂，原因很複雜，
現在還是不說的好，不過這些情緒隨轉為晉級決賽的喜悅。」
Del Piero has been something of an enigma during
his international career after failing to reproduce his club form
for the Azzurri.
But although he is no longer guaranteed a starting shirt for Italy,
he's delighted that he is still of some use.
“Many times goals come out of difficulties and determination,
so my enjoyment is tripled,” he stated. “If you don't play much
and still score, then that's extra special.”
「很多時候進球都還自艱困與決心之中，所以我的喜悅應該有三倍之多，
如果你打的時間不長卻還是能進球，感覺是格外特別的。」
Del Piero was introduced in the second period of extra-time
as the Azzurri looked to avoid going to penalties.
And he sealed the win by basically running the length of the field,
without the ball, to ensure a memorable 2-0 victory.
“If it's balanced until four minutes from the end of extra-time,
then it had to be tough. As the away side and with everything happening,
we had it all against us,” he added.
「如果一切很平衡，直到延長賽結束前的四分鐘，那就會很難搞，
身為客隊，所有事都是進行式，全部的狀況都對我們不利。」
“I called for the ball from midfield! I was a long way back,
but Gilardino did well to hold up the ball and hear me call again
when I got closer.”

Del Piero came on as a substitute and put the icing on the cake
with another splendid strike on the counter-attack in the final seconds.
As expected, the Juventus legend dedicated the goal to
his friend Gianluca Pessotto, who is fighting for his life
after an apparent suicide attempt. “Forza Pessottino. Don't give up,”
he said with a t-shirt sending a message to Turin.
Del Piero把進球獻給 Pessotto，
寄了一件上面寫著『Pessotto加油！不要放棄！』的t-shirt回都靈給他。
“It was fantastic and a game like this in their home ground,
the tie was set up perfectly for us.
The second half wasn't going so well,
but we beat a very strong side and could've scored earlier,
but our desire today was superior to any obstacle.”
Del Piero說：「太美妙了，像這樣一場在他們國家土地上的對決正適合我們，
下半場打得不順，不過我們打敗了一隻強隊，只是無法更早進球，
我們今天的欲望勝過了一切障礙！」
