My current deal runs out in 2009 but the plan is to meet with the club and renew my contract”. Chiellini referred to the club's ambitions: “We have a serious project to regain our place at the top and as long as that's the case, I have a part to play. While a host of his more established colleagues are looking for a way out of Turin and the Second Division, the youngster is ready to stay. “Every player will now base their decisions on what alternatives they have,” stated the full-back. “It will be important to keep as many players from last season's squad as possible. “I personally will be proud to stay and be a part of the serious project which has already been outlined. “I haven't asked to be sold and I'm actually negotiating a contract renewal until June 2009.
