Born in 1977, Belardi plied his trade with Reggina before embarking on loan spells with Napoli, Modena and Catanzaro over the last few seasons. After a fine year in Serie B, making 34 appearances, Belardi took a well-deserved holiday. Then came the phone call from Juventus and the immediate reply: “I'm happy to have the chance to play in a great team like Juventus”. These were his first words as a bianconero on arriving at the Vinovo sports centre, opening its gates to the team for the first time today. “It's a new environment for me – he told reporters – but I'm sure I'll be very happy here. I know some of the guys from playing against them, the same thing happened to me with Rampulla”.
