http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/aug11n.html Juve beat Inter at Moretti Friday 11 August, 2006 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Juventus have gained revenge on Inter by winning the first Trofeo Moretti clash with a Marcelo Zalayeta goal. The tournament is made up of three 45-minute matches at Napoli's Stadio San Paolo and takes place every summer. The first match was the Derby d'Italia, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Patrick Vieira did not face their former teammates. This is the first time Juve have taken on Inter since the Calciopoli scandal, which saw the Bianconeri demoted and their 2005-06 Scudetto handed to the Nerazzurri instead. It was Juventus who took the lead after 14 minutes in chaotic fashion. A corner kick was not dealt with effectively and Francesco Toldo was late in his attempt to punch away a looping Marcelo Zalayeta header. Julio Cruz chested down and fired over, then an Obafemi Martins header skimmed the far post. Adriano prodded the ball into the path of the Nigerian, but Antonio Mirante rushed out to close him down. Valeri Bojinov took advantage of a defensive error and slammed a shot that was palmed away by Toldo, who had to react again to Giorgio Chiellini's touch on Matteo Paro's effort. Former Siena goalkeeper Mirante flapped away a dangerous Dejan Stankovic cross, as Inter switched from the 4-3-3 to a more classic 4-4-2. Maicon was impressive and skipped between two defenders before drilling over from a tight angle, but it was Juventus who emerged 1-0 winners. Inter now go on to play Napoli, while Juventus will face the hosts in the final match.
