The game saw the return of world champion Gigi Buffon to the line-up, with Marco Marchionni and Valeri Bojinov making their competitive debuts for the Turin giants. Martina kicked-off but it was Juventus who took the initiative from the start, Nedved and Marchionni causing trouble down the left early on. In the third minute Bojinov had a goal ruled out for offside, sneaking in behind the defence from a Zalayeta flick on. With seven minutes gone the Czech winger broke down the left and sent in a sweet cross to the near post, Bojinov flicked on to the back post where an unmarked Marchionni duly slotted the ball home with a decisive finish (0-1). 開賽到7min第一個進球。 Juventus continued to pepper their opponents goal, Paro and Marchionni trying their luck from distance and Legrottaglie sending a header over the bar from a Nedved corner. On 55 minutes, Nedved latched onto a Paro free-kick from the right but blasted his thunderous effort high and wide to the right. Deschamps rang the changes as the half progressed, replacing Zalayeta up front with Guzman on 49’, and Gianichedda in midfield for Critiano Zanetti on 65’.
