Lippi: “Del Piero, symbol of Italian football”
“Del Piero is one of the few icons left in Italian football”.
Speaking about the Bianconeri captain was Marcello Lippi,
in town for the launch of the Salvatore Lo Presti football annual.
“Alex is a fine example of professionalism – continued the World Cup
winning coach – as he showed this summer, when, right in the thick
of the ‘Calciopoli’ scandal, he pledged his allegiance to Juventus
without hesitation. He's a symbol of not only this club, but also of
Italian football as a whole”.
Lippi說：「Del Piero是義大利足壇少數僅存的圖像，

both from a footballing and a human perspective”.

Lippi eyes Juve return

Former Azzurri Coach Marcello Lippi has refused to rule out
the possibility that he might one day return to Juventus.
The World Cup winning tactician left Italy's bench after the Germany
'06 triumph and is expected to accept a new job later this year.
Although that is unlikely to be with the Bianconeri,
who are currently led by Didier Deschamps, Lippi would love to
eventually return to the side he led to European Cup glory.
儘管現在不太可能回到 JUVE，Deschamps正執掌兵符，
Lippi仍然樂於在最後回到這隻自己帶上歐洲巔峰的球隊。
“How could I ever say that I would never go back to Juventus?”
declared Lippi on Thursday. “I had a great time there,
but I don't want my words to be misinterpreted.

“The only thing that worries me about all the speculation involving me is

“I have been paired with Napoli, Chelsea, Milan, Inter and
Spanish clubs but these sides all have Coaches who are serious
professionals and are working hard.

“In any case, I don't miss working that much – I enjoy my life
as it is now. I will wait until May and then I will decide what to do.

“I would have never taken on a team with the season underway,
that is what I told all the foreign clubs who have contacted me so far.

“Aside from that, I have no preference as to which
side or national team I might Coach next.”
「撇開那些不談，我也對下一隻可能執教的職業隊或是國家隊沒有偏好。」
The former Inter tactician believes that Deschamps,
who played under Lippi in Turin, is currently doing an excellent job
at Juve as he bids to lead them back into Serie A.
Lippi相信曾在自己手下效力過 JUVE的 Deschamps，
認為他現在帶領 JUVE重回義甲的工作做得非常出色。
“I like the team's mentality, I think there is an interesting mix
of experienced champions and determined youngsters,” he said.
Lippi說：「我喜歡這隻球隊的心態，

“Deschamps' work has been very good so far – the fact that
Juve are first is a result of their will to succeed.

“If they hadn't been penalised they would now be nine points
ahead of Napoli,” explained Lippi, who went on to talk up
skipper Alessandro Del Piero.

after such a prestigious career. He is one the last symbols remaining
in Italian football.
“He also showed that he is a humble person –
