Alex sets Italy example

Alessandro Del Piero accepted a substitute's role and is happy
to set an example for Italy's next generation of stars.
“I hope I give a good example to the younger players.
We did well today and I am satisfied with my own performance.”
Del Piero 說：「我希望自己能成為年輕球員的好榜樣，
我們今天打得不錯，我也很滿意自己的表現。」
The Juventus captain came on for the final stages of the 2-0
win in Lithuania and praised brace hero Fabio Quagliarella,
including a reference to the media scrum over Francesco Totti's
international sabbatical.
Del Piero 在２－０戰勝立陶宛一戰的最後階段替補上陣，
他讚美獨中兩元的 Quagliarella，表示這才是媒體該提的，不是 Totti 缺陣。
“Quagliarella is excellent and it is only right that the headlines
should be dominated by those who play and not those who are not here.”
「Quagliarella 很出色，讓那些有出賽的人佔據頭條才是對的，
而不是報導那些不在這裡的人。」
Del Piero has no intention of walking away from the Italy squad
and collected his 83rd cap.
Del Piero 拿到第８３次出場數，無意退出國家隊。
“I would love to reach my 100th cap! We all wanted to make our mark
and help Italy in this match, so I certainly do not feel like a veteran
of the Azzurri scene.”
「我很想達到１００出場數！我們都想在這場比賽幫助義大利並留下自己的印記，
所以我一點都不覺得自己在義大利隊上是個老兵。」
He almost marked the occasion with a goal,
but slipped after he had put two defenders out of business.
他差點就能取得進球，但是過掉兩名防守者之後滑倒了。
“I wanted to cut back once more and slipped, so the chance went begging.
I hope that is an example to youngsters too – on how not to do it!”
「我想要再切回裡線一次然後打滑了，機會稍縱即逝，
我希望這也能成為年輕人的範例－－讓他們知道別這麼做！」
Now that Juventus have been promoted back into Serie A
and Claudio Ranieri is officially the new Coach,
Del Piero is feeling enthusiastic about the future.
Juventus 確定重回義甲，Ranieri 正式成為新教練，Del Piero 對未來充滿熱情。
“Ranieri's CV speaks for itself. I think that since he arrived
we have all started to work towards something truly ambitious
and I too am ready to support him all the way.”
「Ranieri 的履歷表說明了一切，我認為從他到來之後，
我們全都開始朝向真正野心勃勃的方向前進，我也準備好要一路支持他了。」

Buffon proud of Azzurri stars

Gianluigi Buffon was the most critical of Italy's show in the Faroe Islands,
but said he is “proud” to be part of this squad.
Buffon 對客場戰法羅群島的表現最為不滿，不過他說自己為身在陣中感到驕傲。
“These were two very different games. I am very proud to be one
of the players, as in a game on June 6 when some might already
have their minds on their vacation, to see such a great performance
really does make you feel good about your team.”
Buffon 說：「這是兩場非常不同的比賽，身為成員之一的我感到很自豪，
因為在六月六日的比賽，有些人的心思可能已經在想著自己的假期了，
能看到這樣出色的表現確實讓你對自己的球隊感覺很好。」
The 2-0 victory in Lithuania was their fifth on the trot,
but above all was a world away from the “soft and superficial” game
Buffon said he saw last Saturday.
“The mental approach was totally different –
there was an abyss between them. We feared this one a little more,
as all the other teams have already struggled here in this campaign,
but we responded as a compact squad.”
「心理上的態度完全不同－－兩者之間有著深不可測的差距，
基於所有同組的其他球隊都已經在這裡吃過苦頭，立陶宛讓我們比較擔心，
但是我們以緊密結實的陣容作出了回應。」
Yet he was still called to make a couple of saves in Kaunas,
even though Italy dominated most of the match, and kept his concentration.
儘管義大利幾乎控制整場比賽，Buffon 本場仍然保持專注並做出幾次撲救。
“I am helped by the fact I have played for a great side like Juventus
for years. Also after 10 years of international duty and many negative
experiences, once you see the sun you want to hang on to that feeling
for as long as possible. That takes real focus and concentration.”
「事實上在像 Juventus 這樣的偉大球隊效力多年幫助了我，
當然在國家隊征戰十年與許多負面經驗之後，一旦你見到曙光，
也會想要盡可能延長這種感覺，這需要真正的集中與專注。」
