Jackson: I'll Be Back Soon Mar.15.2004 from: Bobby's Official Site http://bobby.ultimatepros.com/news.php?id=160 這篇報導談到 Bobby 的傷勢,這裡說是一個禮拜至一個半禮拜左右會回來, 但是我也有聽到可能甚至會再休息一個月,到季後賽再回來的可能性。 總之,球團這次非常謹慎在處理,我們季後賽很需要 100% 健康的的他。 It's tough to take 14 points a game, a steal, two assists, and three rebounds out of a lineup. It's even tougher when that lineup depends on said player to help form some of the backbone of a championship run. Unfortunately for the Sacramento Kings, they have been forced since February 20th to do exactly that. In that game against the Chicago Bulls reserve guard Bobby Jackson pulled an abdominal muscle and was forced to go on the injured list. The Kings have gone 9-3 in Jackson's absence, but the strain of having to play without one of their key players is starting to show. According to Jackson, they should stop worrying. He has been working out diligently doing exercises prescribed to him by the training staff. Before the March 12th game in Portland Jackson spent an hour on the court shooting around taking threes, and his jump shot looked pretty good. Jackson took feeds from a member of the coaching staff at the top of the three-point line and he got excellent lift on his jumpers and made a fairly good percentage. His form was good and it looked like he wasn't hurt at all. Some fans in the stands watching probably thought Jackson would be playing, but not quite yet. "It doesn't bother me when I shoot or run straight ahead," Jackson explained. "I can still feel it when I run hard, or when I have to cut. Shooting doesn't bother me at all. "It's getting better, I can run and I'm starting to do a little bit more every day. It feels good, but I can still feel some resistance there, but I just have to continue to rehab. I ice and stretch it every day, keep up with exercises." Abdominal injuries are some of the worst any athlete can get. Like a hamstring pull they have a tendency to linger and an athlete needs to be absolutely positive the injury has healed before they start going at it 100%. Guard Gilbert Arenas of the Washington Wizards missed half of the season with a similar injury but half of that time came after he tried to come back too early. The Kings' training staff does not want Jackson to make the mistakes. "Man, they've got me doing all kinds of crazy stuff," Jackson said, intimating that trying to explain it was beyond words. "All sorts of stretching exercises, rolling around on the big yoga ball. I'm also riding the elliptical machine, the treadmill, the stationary bike, all things I do normally to stay in shape." Asked when he might be back out on the floor in a game situation, Jackson grinned. "I should be back in a week, week and a half." Excellent news for Jackson fans and the groups of King fans sprinkled all over the nation. That's also good news for starting point guard Mike Bibby who has had way too many 40+ minute games since Jackson suffered the injury. Bibby should be happy to hear the 2003 Sixth Man of the Year will be back in his purple and black soon. "Oh yeah, Mike will be happy," Jackson said. "I would think all the guys would be happy." No doubt. In fact the Kings could have used Jackson's services Friday night in Portland. Sacramento struggled to get their fastbreak offense running against some stellar defense by the Blazers' Theo Ratliff (eight blocks). With Jackson in the game, the outcome might have been very different. "Man, I don't want to say yes or not," Jackson said when asked if the team might have won with him on the floor. "But you never know." While looking at the stat sheet for the Portland game, dressed in street clothes as his teammates showered after the hard-fought 81-83 loss to the Blazers, Jackson shook his head as he read the box score. A voice called out asking how many blocks Ratliff ended up with. "Eight, man," Jackson answered, amazed. "Theo had eight." The Kings had at one point fallen behind by eleven points in the game, late in the third quarter, but Jackson says this team never worries about it. "We have confidence in our abilities," Jackson said. "The coaching staff does too. Coach [Rick Adelman] doesn't really let any worry show because he believes in what we can do, but inside it might be a different story. That's what coaches do." In just a short time Jackson will be able to pull on his bright purple Kings' uniform and do whatever he can to help alleviate any worry Coach Adelman may be feeling. Jackson also says that with him coming back and Chris Webber's just recently back after missing most of the year with a knee injury. Sacramento should be just fine come playoff time. "It won't take very long to get back in the groove," Jackson said. "Like I said, I観 riding the elliptical, the treadmill things I do normally , so getting in shape shouldn't be a problem. Of course, game shape is always different, but I観 not worried." Jackson will hit the ground running, and a week or week and a half from Friday night means Kings' fans will see the familiar number 24 back in the lineup probably at home on the 21st against Houston or the 23rd against Milwaukee. On the 25th the Kings visit the LA Lakers, so if he's ready It's almost a guarantee Jackson will be on the floor then. Just in time too, as the playoff race starts to get hot. The Kings are in a dogfight with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the number one seed in the Western Conference. With two great teams battling for a seeding like that, oftentimes it's the little things that can make a difference, little things like injuries. For Sacramento getting Jackson back will not be only a little thing, he is also a catalyst who can take the Kings to the promised land, places where they have parades in June. One thing at a time though for Bobby Jackson. First, he is going to concentrate on his rehab and get back on the court. A week or a week and a half, Jackson said so himself. 附帶一提,4/8 Bobby 將在主場舉行為了紀念他母親的基金會揭幕 http://bobby.ultimatepros.com/news.php?id=159 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.167.189.242
