This marks the first time in 18 years that Sacramento will own a Top 5 pick in the NBA Draft. In that 1991 Lottery, the Kings finished third in the drawing after owning the NBA’s third-worst record that season. All of the participants will arrive at the studio around 6:30 p.m. EST and mingle and grab a bite to eat in the “ Green Room” before making their way into the television studio around 7:45 p.m. EST for the national broadcast, which starts at 8 p.m. EST on ESPN. The actual Lottery procedure takes place in a separate conference room about 20 minutes before the national unveiling on ESPN. The only folks allowed in that room are the 14 Team Reps (John Kehriotis for the Kings), members of the Ernst & Young accounting firm, and a couple NBA executives and security officers. Prior to the Lottery, 1,000 four-number combinations are assigned and posted on a big board in the conference room. Four balls will be drawn to the top to determine a four-digit combination. The team that has been assigned that combination will receive the number one pick. The four balls are placed back in the drum and the process is repeated to determine the number two and three pick. Thus, the Kings can pick no lower than fourth, Washington no lower than fifth and the Clippers no lower than sixth. 如果該球隊無法得到前三的話將會依戰績最差來決定TOP3以外的順位例如國王戰績最差就是第四順位巫師戰績次差就是第五順位以此類推 What happens in the studio during the broadcast? 轉播時會發生什麼事? Although the actual drawing has already taken place when the national ESPN broadcast begins, the only people who know the results are the 20 or so sequestered people in the conference room (with no communication to the outside world). Following the drawing, team logo cards will be inserted into envelopes marked 1 through 14 by an Ernst & Young representative. These envelopes then will be sealed and brought on-stage, where the announcement of the Lottery results will be made by NBA Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver. Neither Mr. Silver nor any of the on-stage team representatives will be informed of the Lottery results prior to the opening of the envelopes. Back home in Sacramento 回到溫暖的家 The Kings are hosting a Draft Lottery Viewing Party on Tuesday night at the Center Court With C-Webb Restaurant (3600 No. Freeway Blvd in Sacramento).
