Spencer Hawes' trip to the Pacific Northwest resulted in some good news regarding his injured left knee. The doctor who has operated on him in the past won't have to do so again. "I talked to Spencer (on Saturday), and they don't feel he needs to have surgery," Kings coach Paul Westphal said. "It's a rest-and-rehab thing rather than surgery is the way they look at it." Hawes visited Dr. Lawrence Holland in Seattle for a second opinion on his knee Friday. Holland performed arthroscopic surgery on Hawes' left knee in 2007 before his rookie season and a microfracture procedure when he was 14. Hawes suffered a deep bone bruise in the back of his left knee and an irregular signal in the joint line when he was kneed by a Pacer during Tuesday's loss at Indiana. Hawes is out the rest of the season.
