NBA Draft: Top Five Most Ready

There's nothing better than instant gratification from a draft pick,
especially considering that most rookies need a couple years to get adjusted
to NBA basketball. There's always been a premium on having potential though,
which is why solid players like Joakim Noah and Brandon Roy went outside the
Top Five. This year is no different, there will be a couple players that
don't immediately warrant their high selection. The five players listed below
won't be picks 1-5 and they could fall to Blake Griffin in the Rookie of the
Year race, but they will be amongst the most productive come 2010-2011 from
the upcoming draft class.
通常多數新秀都被認為要花個幾年時間來適應NBA層級的比賽，所以能在選秀中獲得即戰力
球員是最讓人開心的事，選秀會中總會出現大量的高潛力新秀，也因此像是Roy或Noah這類
穩定股常會掉出前五順位之外，今年也不例外，有些球員沒有辦法在新秀年就將選秀順位

John Wall – 6'3 Point Guard
Right now there are simply not enough reasons to go anywhere other than John
Wall with the top overall selection. The success John Calipari guards are
having in the NBA is no fluke and Wall should quickly find himself mentioned
with the likes of Derrick Rose and Tyreke Evans. His speed is game-changing
and he is a collected customer under pressure.
One of the biggest keys to having a big rookie year of course is to get
minutes, which Wall certainly should. His abilities demand a significant role
in year one and even the starting position on most teams. As long as he lands
with the right coach Wall should hit the ground running and be one of the
favorites for Rookie of the Year. Lottery team that needs him the most:
Indiana Pacers.
John Wall 六呎三吋 控衛
目前來說狀元已非Wall莫屬，Calipari帶過的後衛沒人是假貨，Wall應該很快就會發現自
己被拿來與Derrick Rose和Tyreke Evans相提並論﹝後兩者也都是Calipari的學生﹞，他

Evan Turner – 6'7 Shooting Guard
This is a draft class that has more than one player with star power thanks to
Evan Turner. He's quite possibly the best consolation price teams that who
miss out on John Wall could ask for. With three years of college experience
under his belt Turner is as NBA ready as they come. The game's speed and high
level of athleticism won't take Turner long to get adjusted to at all.
Turner is the kind of player that teams can build around because he's going
to impact the game heavily every night. He may have some games where his shot
isn't falling, but Turner is going to be contributing in some other way
whether it is by rebounding, creating for teammates, or making plays. Lottery
team that needs him the most: Sacramento Kings.
Evan Turner 六呎七吋 得分後衛
本屆選秀因為有Turner的關係，所以至少有兩位以上的球員能成為全明星，如果沒選到
Wall，那Turner就是最好的選擇。經歷三年大學籃球洗禮後，Turner已經成為NBA即戰力的
球員，他能在最短時間內適應更快速更多體能怪物的NBA比賽。
Turner是適合作為建隊基石的球員，因為他總能扛起比賽重擔，也許某些比賽他的外線會
失準，但他還是能藉由其他方式幫助球隊，保護籃板、幫隊友創造機會或指揮球隊進攻。

Wesley Johnson 6'7 Small Forward
Much like Evan Turner Wesley Johnson will amaze teams with his versatility.
There are so many things he can do to hurt the opposition as Johnson can play
both inside and out. At 6'7 he's also a good athlete that could potentially
play some power forward on a team that likes to play small. It's because of
his length, speed, and quickness that teams think so highly of him and look
past the potential issues he could have defensively as an individual. At
Syracuse Johnson played exclusively in a 2-3 zone.
The one thing that will help Johnson the most at the next level is his work
ethic. He's a little bit older than the average rookie, but he's also made
vast improvements over the last few years and could continue to do so.
Lottery team that needs him the most: Los Angeles Clippers.
Wesley Johnson 六呎七吋 小前鋒
Wes像Turner一樣能透過各種手段幫助球隊，Wes內外兼俱，他有許多攻擊武器來重創對手
，六呎七吋同時兼具良好運動力的Wes如果待再喜歡打小球的隊伍中也可以打到四號位。
雖然在雪城Wes是打二三區域聯防，但因為他的身高、速度和靈敏的反應，讓多數球隊會期
待他能扮演大鎖的角色。

Patrick Patterson – 6'9 Power Forward
Throughout Patrick Patterson's three years at Kentucky he proved he could do
it all as well. During his first two years he's dominated inside the painted
area, while he showcased his versatility as a junior by letting DeMarcus
Cousins handle the play inside. He got away from rebounding as much as he
should since being moved to a face up forward position, but it's nothing that
can't be fixed with better effort.
Physically Patterson is capable of playing against the grown men that patrol
the paint in the NBA, which is one of the biggest keys for a young forward.
Patterson's efficiency will make whatever team drafts him extremely happy
next season. Lottery team that needs him the most: Golden State Warriors.
Patrick Patterson 六呎九吋 大前鋒
綜觀Patterson三年的大學成績，他證明了自己的全面性，頭兩年大學生涯，Patterson主
宰球隊禁區，今年DeMarcus Cousins入隊後，他把油漆區讓給了學弟，轉到前鋒位置，並

Al Farouq-Aminu – 6'9 Small Forward
These past two years for Al Farouq-Aminu have been all about his basketball
skills becoming as big of an asset as his athleticism. He's been successful
in this aspect, transforming into one of the most intriguing forward
prospects to come around in a long time. With a lot of similarities to the
Chicago Bull's Luol Deng Aminu is going to cause havoc as a rookie.
Small forwards are asked to do quite a lot in the NBA, but Aminu will have no
trouble doing whatever is needed. He can guard players out on the perimeter,
rebound the basketball, and score in a multitude of ways. His ball handling
and 3-point shot aren't up to par yet, but those are two areas he can improve
on with hard work. Lottery team that needs him the most: New Orleans Hornets
Al Farouq-Aminu 六呎九吋 小前鋒
因為對籃球的熱誠，讓Aminu利用這兩年將自己的籃球技巧大幅提升，他成為最有潛力的小
前鋒之一。不過和公牛隊的Luol Deng過於相似將對Aminu的新秀年造成不小的負擔。
小前鋒是NBA工作最重的角色，但Aminu應該能夠順利適應這樣的角色，他可以負責防守外
線球員，也能瞬間轉身回禁區保護籃板，還能透過各種方式得分，雖然他的持球進攻和三
分投射未臻成熟，但這兩者相信都能透過他的努力取得進步。

Just Missing the Cut: DeMarcus Cousins – 6'11 Center
Make no mistake about it, DeMarcus Cousins is the top center prospect in this
class and potentially a Top 5 pick. However, due to the way he plays there
could be an extended learning curve. Cousins is not a player that relies on
outstanding leaping ability. He scores his points by getting deep position
and using his great touch.
Against the freakish athletes of the NBA Cousins will need to learn to
integrate a lot more fakes and counters in his game than he had to use in the
NCAA. He'll also have to become even stronger as he'll find that his strength
advantage isn't anywhere near as big as it once was. His potential remains
immense, it's just going to take some time for him to become as good as he
can be. Lottery team that needs him the most: Toronto Raptors.
遺珠：DeMarcus Cousins 六呎十一吋 中鋒
漏掉表弟並沒有甚麼問題，表弟的確是極富潛力的中鋒新秀，而且會在前五順位中選，但
表弟打球的方式將會讓他的適應時間拉長，表弟沒有卓越的爆發力，他的得分方式是藉著
在低位取得有利位置後靠著柔順的手感取分。
但進入NBA後，表弟將面對許多怪物，他需要更多的假動作和肢體碰撞來對抗不同於大學層
級的對手，他也必須練的更壯，因為他會發現他的身材優勢到了NBA已不再那麼絕對，他的
潛力備受期待，只是他需要多花點時間來適應NBA的比賽，才能達到大家對他的期望。
