On Stephon Marbury: I encourage him all the time.I think he's doing a great
job of setting things up and running the show. I keep reminding him that
when the opportunities are there, he has to take it. He's very capable of
doing that. In the second half, he came out and really went after it.
On the second half: We had to step the defense up. Defense really sets the
tone. It covers you when you miss shots or when you don't play as well. We
really stepped it up good.
On the Knicks bench: The bench came in. Penny was terrific. Othella
Harrington was terrific. You have to look beyond the points that they score,
and see the other things that they'e doing. You have to feel confident with
your bench. These are guys that you're going to need. We want them to play
at a high level. I'm very pleased with the way the bench is playing.
Marbury
On tonight's game: We are playing great defense. We are moving the ball and
getting wide open shots. We are really flowing right now. We are getting
very confident right now. We feel confident that we can win.
On the winning streak: It feels good. It feels good to win. I love winning.
I am just trying to get guys involved. The key is that Allan (Houston) and
I are hitting shots.
On playing in New York: I always wanted to play for the Knicks. It is a
dream come true. Whenever I put on that uniform I get chills down my back.
On Lenny Wilkens: He is just so cool and so calm on the sidelines. He makes
it seem like everything is always okay. He stays focus. He calls timeouts at
the perfect time and never lets a team get on a roll against us.
On playing at Houston on Wednesday: We are well aware of the beat down we took
from Houston and I am almost positive they are aware of it too.

Houston
On tonight's game: There is a lot of energy. We are starting to get used to
each other. On a day like this, we got contribution from a good bench and
everyone is playing hard. I think the key is that we are have been committed
to defense even though we are able to score and that is how you win on a
consistent basis
On Stephon Marbury: There were a couple of plays where he got to the hole and
made some great passes. I think that really sparked him and we just played off
of him.
More on tonight's game: We are just trying to wear people down. As long as we
can get a couple of spots, everybody that is in there is capable of making
plays offensively. As long as we can get stops, we don't worry about offense.
Van Horn
On tonight's game: Guys always have to step up. Everyone is not going to play
to their best every night. Collectively, as a team, 12 guys can put together
a win like we did tonight. We had a lot of guys that are playing good
basketball. I never like to look at games with teams that are shorthanded as
easy wins, because you have guys that are coming in trying to prove to their
coaches that deserve minutes. A lot of time you lose those games, because you
don't think that they are not as good a team. We didn't do that tonight.
On Stephon Marbury: We have so many threats. Steph is doing a good job of
running the team and we are doing a good job of feeding off of him. We need
to continue to do that. We need to continue to play solid defense like we did
the last three quarters of tonight's game and hopefully the streak
(winning streak) will continue.
On playing Houston: Anytime a team beats you the way they beat us there is
definitely a pride factor involved. We have a lot of pride. We want to go out
and there and show that we can win that game.
Thomas
On the winning streak: We knew we won four games in a row. When you start
winning you start to play harder. Wins are the best thing for us. As long as
we keep this winning streak going, as long as we continue to play hard,
hopefully a lot of good things will happen.
On the playoff race: We have been right there in the 9th or 10th spot and now
we have put together a few wins and out ourself in a nice position. Now it is
all about executing and playing good basketball.
