Medical tests revealed no new concerns for either Amar’e Stoudemire or
Chauncey Billups on Wednesday, and their status for Game 3 of the Knicks’
first-round playoff series against the Boston Celtics remains largely
unchanged.
Stoudemire, who left Tuesday night’s game in Boston because of back spasms,
has a pulled muscle, according to a magnetic resonance imaging exam taken
Wednesday, the team said. He is listed as day-to-day but is expected to play
Friday night in Game 3.
An M.R.I. of Billups’s left knee confirmed a strained tendon, the team said.
He was listed as questionable for Friday night. Billups was injured in the
final minute of Game 1 on Sunday and sat out Game 2.
The Celtics lead the series, 2-0.
