By the end of the first quarter, he’d connected on all three of his three-pointers, made eight of his nine field goals overall, and carried the Knicks to a 41-27 lead. Woodson instilled a defensive ethic D’Antoni’s Lakers still lack, yet what really makes him successful is this version of Anthony D’Antoni rarely had. Anthony didn’t make it easy on D’Antoni, pouting in injury while the birth of Linsanity brought such obvious joy to the coach.
