台媒新聞不能放，不知道這個可不可以 XD New York Knicks star thanks Taiwan for warm welcome 2013/07/24 20:33:53 Taipei, July 24 (CNA) Visiting New York Knicks guard Iman Shumpert thanked the Taiwanese people Wednesday for their warm welcome during his stay and said he is very likely to come back to the country. "This is my last day here. I had a load of fun. I've met a lot of different fans… I feel like I've made some great connections. I can almost guarantee you I'll be back," Shumpert said at an event in Taipei, where he met with fans and signed autographs. Shumpert, who arrived in Taiwan on July 22, will leave for New York on Thursday. After that, he said, he will head to Florida for some rigorous workouts before the start of the Knicks training camp. The previous day, he spoke at his local sponsor's Taipei office and attended a charity event, at which he urged the public to donate blood. Shumpert said that having grown up in Chicago, he was inspired by Michael Jordan, his favorite basketball player. "He's the greatest competitor I ever saw in my life," Shumpert said. Seeing Jordan win many championships "really helped me develop a hunger to want to win," he added. Shumpert said he thinks Miami Heat's LeBron James is the best defender "just because LeBron can guard any position." Budding writer Esther Tseng, 21, who attended the autograph session, said Shumpert is one of her favorite basketball players because "he is a rare defender." Tseng gave Shumpert a copy of her Chinese-language fantasy novel about the Knicks. "It's a souvenir for him to remember Taiwan," she said.
