[Athletic]Clemente appointed as Bilbao sack Mendilibar

Athletic Bilbao have acted quickly after sacking coach Jose Luis Mendilibar
with the appointment of Javier Clemente as his replacement.
After losing six games from their opening ten games, the Basque Country
outfit are bottom of the table and the board decided that a change was need
immediatly.
"I want to save Athletic, but it is impossible to do it alone," Clemente said
after being appointed on Monday afternoon.
"It is a delicate situation and we all have to come together, whether that be
those that are against me as well as those that are for me. I am coming with
a great desire to work hard for the team.
"When I have joined other sides I have joined with a professional plan, but
with Athletic it is personal because it is my team. I hope that everything
goes well and we can all enjoy ourselves.
"We all need to pull in the same direction. We are a better team than the
results would have you believe.
"Nerves are making things difficult. We have to have more confidence. The
players are the first ones who want to change the situation here."
