LFP Considers Changing Spanish Kick-Off Times To Suit Chinese Audiences
The changes could come about this year...

The director general of the Spanish Football Association (LFP), Francisco
Roca, has revealed that the governing body are considering changing match
times in the Primera Division in order to promote the league in China.
As the English Premier League and American basketball league (NBA) are both
very popular in China, Roca believes that there is an untapped resource for
the Spanish league to exploit.
"The principal short-term measure is to have matches that are played at a
time that allows for a larger audience in China," Roca explained to Marca at
an event promoting Spanish football in Canton.
"This season, we could start to have games in Spain at 3 o'clock in the
afternoon," he continued. This would allow matches to be aired in prime-time
slots in China at 21:00 or 22:00 local time.
"A competition that isn't viewed, or is aired at a time when few people are
watching television, damages its popularity," Roca concluded.
