Former Charlotte Bobcats guard Raymond Felton(notes) wasn't likely sleeping
at midnight ET Wednesday night when the NBA free-agency period got started.
According to Yahoo! Sports' Marc J. Spears, the best free-agent point guard
available took calls from six teams when the free-agent officially opened.
The Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers, New Jersey Nets,
DallasMavericks and Memphis Grizzlies were all on the horn for Felton on Wednesday
night, Spears reports.
And why not? The 26-year-old four-year pro averaged 12.1 points, 5.6 assists,
3.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals last year for the Bobcats.
Spears reports that the Los Angeles Lakers are looking for a point guard but
that Felton is looking to make more than the NBA champs can spend right now.
