Derek Fisher's foul upped to flagrant 2 Los Angeles Clippers head coach Vinny Del Negro said the NBA should review the contact between Clippers center Chris Kaman and Los Angeles Lakers guard Derek Fisher that occurred late in the fourth quarter of the Lakers' 112-104 win Friday. With 28.8 seconds remaining in the game, Kaman set a screen on Fisher out on the perimeter that the Lakers co-captain took issue with, shoving back at Kaman. Fisher received a technical foul at the time, while Kaman received two technicals resulting in his ejection from the game. Del Negro got what he asked for. The league looked at the game tape and retroactively tacked on a flagrant 2 foul to Fisher, league spokesman Tim Frank said Monday when reached by email. Kaman's two technical fouls stand, however. A flagrant 2 foul is defined as "unnecessary and excessive contact committed by a player against an opponent." "You can't come and set moving screens the whole game and not expect there is going to be some times where you get tangled up with a guy," Fisher said Friday. "To me, that's part of the game. Don't come screen if you don't want to get into a tangle." The flagrant 2 upgrade does not carry with it any suspension in this instance, as was the case when Andrew Bynum received a two-game ban without pay for his flagrant 2 on Minnesota's Michael Beasley, but it did include a $5,000 fine that Fisher is appealing. The infraction also brings Fisher's flagrant point total for the season up to two. If a player's season flagrant foul point total exceeds five points, he will receive an automatic suspension following the game in which his point total exceeds five points and for each additional flagrant foul committed during that season.
