Gustavo Kuerten will resume practice within the next few days, but his support
team have ruled out any attempt at playing in the Indian Wells and Miami
Masters in March, it was announced on Thursday. The Brazilian underwent
arthroscopic hip surgery in Pittsburgh on 21 September.
Diana Gabanyi, Kuerten's communications director confirmed the news on the
three-time French Open champion's website.
Dr. Marc Philippon, a member of the surgical team, prescribed a rehabilitation
program that could span four to six months.
"The surgery was successful. We were able to remove all the injuries that
were causing pain and blocking the movement," said Dr. Philippon immediately
after the surgery.
