Gerard Houllier has ruled out any possible transfer moves for Liverpool
when the window re-opens at midnight tonight after assistant manager Phil
Thompson had previously been reluctant to rule out any possible transfers.
But speaking exclusively to Liverpoolfc.tv, Houllier ruled out any inbound
transfers and also admitted that it was unlikely that anyone would be
leaving the club either.
He said: "I have no intention of signing anyone. I trust my staff and my
players and I know we have a good enough squad to achieve success. We
showed that in the second half at Arsenal."
"I don't anticipate an opportunity coming up during the transfer window for
me to sign a new player. I'm happy with what we have."
"I don't think anyone will be leaving either. If a player comes up to me and
says he wants to go then the door is open. But not many players say that
because Liverpool is a good club."
