We are looking for a person to produce high quality, accurate work across several technologies. You will work with journalists, designers, technical and marketing staff on a variety of tasks as required. Job Title: Software Engineer Job Purpose: Assist the Liverpoolfc.tv team with the maintenance and development of software for the official club website – www.liverpoolfc.tv. This includes work on bespoke Content Management and Registration Systems, as well as other areas. Responsibilities: - Maintain and enhance existing scripts - Develop new scripted facilities - Advise and assist non-technical staff - In conjunction with web designer, develop page implementations to meet business and accessibility requirements - Contribute to plans for future site development Person Specification: - Educated to degree level with a minimum of GCSE Grade B in English - Formal training at University or higher education level - Several years previous work experience as software engineer - A strong team player with a high level of integrity - A good attention to detail - Strong knowledge of and experience using php and C in a business environment - Experience of a RDBMS, preferably Oracle, and experience of query- writing in a business environment - Good knowledge of Javascript and DHTML - Knowledge of Perl and Java are desirable but not mandatory - A good understanding of the official LFC website - Flexible and "can do" attitude combined with a good sense of humour! Hours of Work: The standard hours of work (including a 1 hour lunch break) are: Monday – Thursday (9:00am – 5:30pm) Friday (9:00am – 5:00pm) In the event of business pressures it may be necessary, on rare occasions, to work outside these hours. Time in lieu (deductible from the standard hours above) is awarded in such circumstances. Salary: The position will attract a salary dependent on experience.
