Infielder Alexi Casilla was expected to be the Twins' starting second baseman in 2008 when the club traded Luis Castillo to the Mets at the trade deadline last July. 在去年七月底Castillo被交易到梅子隊的時候，Casilla一度被認為是Twins今年二壘手的解答。 A rough stint at the end of last season for Casilla, in which he was plagued by youthful mistakes, seemed to erase that notion.
