話說Cliff Lee來到費城後全隊薪資將暴漲165M~170M左右，想當然費城會想減輕點負擔首當其衝的就是Joe Blanton (據傳費城也想送走Raul Ibanez和Kyle Kendrick) Blanton在年初簽下了24M/3Y的合約目前還剩下約17M的價值，若順利送走他將可省下不少錢也因此在Lee的歸處定案後就傳出不少Blanton將被交易的傳聞 Blanton今年因傷曾缺席一段時間成績是9W-6L 4.82ERA ERA+則是84 最先是傳出紅襪隊向費城人打探Blanton 但隨後這消息就被打臉了 -- http://tinyurl.com/27rr2rv 以下是波士頓環球報的報導，擷取一些部分 No deal yet in place for Blanton It's uncertain at this point whether the Red Sox actually want Blanton or were just talking about possibilities.
