March 8, 2002 By Brett Herman Brett Herman: What if Pride offers to double your payday to fight Silva after this? Enson Inoue: Then I guess I have one more fight! I am thinking that Pride feels that I am going to lose this fight no matter what, because they would not put me in a non-title fight against there Champion if they thought I could beat him, because it will ruin everything for them. They're confident that they're going to pull me out for another fight, I am almost positive in my heart that they want Enson/Silva more than anything in the world. I was kind of baffled at the fact that they only talked Nogueria. Enson/Silva is so much more interesting than Enson/Nogueria, but I think they are sure I am going to lose and that they can pull me out for one more fight. Brett Herman: Would you stand toe to toe with Silva? Enson Inoue: Yes, I would stand with Silva, if he goes to the ground I would go with him, if he neck-ties me, I would like to neck-tie with him. Whatever we do, I think Silva is a good matchup for me. I think we're the same type of fighter. We are kind of stupid, you know, we get crazy, we go for broke, we go for the knockout, everything is almost the same. He gets hit, I get hit. I think it would be an all out brawl, I think it would be a war. Brett Herman: Did you watch Silva's second fight against Sakuraba? Enson Inoue: Yes, I did. I didn't see anything that changes in his style, he's all balls out every time, just going for the knockout, and I didn't see any diference. Whenever someone's throwing punches there hands can't be there to protect them, the same goes for me. When I am throwing punches I'm open too. It's almost like a toss-up when you ask who's going to win that fight. That's what makes everything so exciting, when you can't clearly see who's going to win. That's why I think that Igor and Heath is such an exciting fight. Brett Herman: You have seen Ninja vs. Matsui and Silva vs. Sakuraba, how do you feel about the new kicking a downed fighter rule, and do you plan to use that to your advantage against Minotauro? Enson Inoue: I like that style, Ninja's style, he kicks from the top and he's a real aggressive, I guess you could say brutal type of fighter. I haven't really been able to display any of that because I was controlled so much by Heath, Igor was in my guard the whole time, and Kerr was on me the whole time. But I am pretty much like that, like Silva and Ninja, how they come and they'll jump and stomp you in the face, or they'll kick you in the face if you try to get up but it's just that I've never really had the chance to display any of that. I am not really expecting or I am not planning to display it against Nogueria because I know how good he is. I am just going to take it as the fight goes, if he's going to stand with me I am going to take my chances and get my shots in standing. If he takes me down, I am going to fight in the guard, or pass the guard, stand up again, whatever I have to do, whatever it takes. I am training hard, I am going to be ready for whatever he has. If he beats me, then he is a better fighter than me that day, and it's okay with me. Brett Herman: Anything to say to the doubters out there? Enson Inoue: Just remember Randy/Enson, everyone said I was going to lose and everyone was wrong. Everything that I'm training, every minute, every second, every drop of blood that I'm putting into training here and in Thailand, every tear that I shed during training - it's all going to be put into that fight. You can bet that I am going to go out there and take it to him. So, the odds are against me, but don't ever count me out, I am not afraid to throw, I'm not afraid to lose. I am never going to start hugging and surivive a fight. If he's going to beat me he has to beat me to the end, he's got to knock me out, he's got to break my arm because if I can move I am going to fight, if the refs let me fight I am going to fight, no matter what. I am going to try and display a more relaxed Enson, a more level-headed Enson where I can explode when I need to, and I can wait when I need to. I feel more relaxed, a little more mature I guess, you'll see a thinking Enson, hopefully. Brett Herman: How is the conditioning coming? Enson Inoue: Everything is good, for Frank Shamrock I think I was in the best shape of my life, and I'll be up to that level or even better for this next fight, I am going to be THE Enson, and if he beats me, he is truely THE Nogueria man. I am training hard, everything is on course, and I feel great. If he beats me, I'll bow down to him, hats off, he's the man. Brett Herman: Was Enson vs. Frank the best Mixed Martial Arts fight ever? Enson Inoue: No, if I won, if my punch hit him then it would have been! I really liked that fight because I learned a lot, I was willing to display a lot, throw down whenever he did. The fact that he knocked me out isn't really a big thing for me, at the time it was because I lost and I was kind of bummed about it, but when I look back now, it really made my career. It changed me, it made me, I wasn't afriad to stand with anyone after that fight, so Frank taught me a lot, hats off to him...he's the man! You know how they say it's a Disqualification, how Egan jumped in and everything. I am the one who's always been against that knockdown count. You know, I don't see how if I am mounting someone and I am hitting him, and he's about to go out on the ground they don't give you a standing down count. Why should they do it from the standing to the ground, they should let it continue. So, I like the Pride rules, I don't agree with the Shooto rules about having a down count, I think you should be able to jump on the guy. So, if that was the case, Frank would have finished me. So, in my heart I don't feel it was a DQ, I give Frank the KO, hands down because it's fair to him. Brett Herman: Egan was just looking out for you? Enson Inoue: Yeah, Egan is Egan you know? I guess if I was in the corner I would have let it continue because I think I could have got up, we only had 28 seconds left in the round. We would have had a third round and everything would have been interesting, but he's in the corner so he sees things a lot more level-headed than I see it because I am in there getting crazy and excited. Whatever he decides, if he decides to go in that's his decision, and he's my corner man, that's the reason I chose him because I trust his decisions, and that's cool. Brett Herman: What were you and Tito laughing about on the way to the ring for Egan's fight against Guy, was it Pride 13? Enson Inoue: I forget what he said to me, something about seeing me again and he made a comment to me that we're on the same team now, something to that sense and I thought it was really funny so we just started laughing. Brett Herman: What do you think about his injury? Enson Inoue: Very unfortunate I think. Oh my goodness, what a bummer, what a drag! I was thinking of flying out for that fight because there's a lot of other good match-ups going on. Mach is going to fight, you know? Sakurai is going to fight in that too, right? It's in Vegas too, I love Vegas so you just killed two birds with one stone-good fights and Vegas. I am still thinking of going out, that was one of the big fights I was looking forward to -- Tito vs. Belfort. I am kind of bummed about it because Tito is on the top of his game right now, and that kind of injury and that kind of time off can set someone back. So, I hope he can stick with the game and when he comes back he can be the same Tito that he always was. Brett Herman: Anything you want to say to Tito if he reads this? Enson Inoue: It's not how you stand on top of the mountain, it's how you climb back up when you fall off, and I'm sure he knows that. We are going to see the real Tito right now because of this injury he's getting almost pulled off the mountain. He's still on the top, but he's physically off the mountain and now he's got to climb back up. This is where you can tell what the real champions are made of. -- 凱因斯說過: "什麼事情老是有人說長期來看 好 那麼長期來看 我們都死了" -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 210.85.131.158
