BBC Sport: Shaun Wright-Phillips keen on Manchester City stay http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/8670839.stm Shaun Wright-Phillips has insisted that he wants to end his career with Manchester City despite rumours linking him with a summer exit from Eastlands. The midfielder, 28, has started just three league games in 2010 and is rumoured to be interesting Arsenal. "I have never said I wanted to leave. I came back to finish my career at the club and that's what I would like to do," he told BBC Radio 5 live. "If people think otherwise then there are bridges that can get crossed." Wright-Phillips, who has two years remaining on his current deal, saw talks with City over a possible extension stall earlier this year. He blamed the club for the failure to reach a deal and his father, former England striker Ian Wright, accused the City hierarchy of "mugging off" his son. Wright-Phillips, who rejoined City from Chelsea in 2008, has seen his first-team chances reduced by the excellent form of January signing Adam Johnson. Defeat by Tottenham on Wednesday ended City's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League via a fourth-place finish, while Arsenal have ensured a 13th successive season amongst Europe's elite. "After the game nobody talked too much, everyone kind of had their heads in towels," Wright-Phillips told BBC Radio 5 live's Sportsweek of City's midweek loss. "But afterwards the boss came in and tried to pick us all up and we got to get on our feet and go again."
