Fulham
Mark Schwarzer 6.5
The ever impressive Australian produced another solid display, producing some
superb saves in the process. Notably in the first half when he dived down to
his left to deny Gareth Barry. Could do nothing to prevent the City goals.
Dickson Etuhu 5.5
Struggled to cope with the movement and pace of the City midfield throughout
the game, often giving away needless free-kicks. His half clearance also gave
City the opportunity to score their fourth. Booked in second half.
Chris Baird 5.5
The right-back along with the rest of the backline will not be happy with
their overall performance today after leaking four goals at home. However did
manage to make some threatening runs forward as the game progressed, to
support the front men.
Aaron Hughes 5.5
Was given the runarouned for the majority of the game by City's attack. But
as the game went on grew in confidence and managed to thwart several attacks.
Brede Paulsen Hangeland 5.5
had the responsibilty of marking Carlos Tevez, but unfortunatly for the big
Norweigen, he lost the battle. However did manage a couple of important
challenges to deny City scoring more in the second half.
Carlos Amoldo Salcido 6.5
A decent performance by the Mexican on his return from injury. Broke up a
number of reatening attacks but was a fault for the opener as he played Tevez
onside.
Simon Davies 5.5
Along with Murphy, he struggled in Fulham's midfield today, often gettin
muscled off the ball. The Welshman was also careless in possession mainly in
the first half.
Danny Murphy 5.5
The fulham captain was over powered by the srength and skill of City's
midfield for most of the game. And gave away needless free-kicks especially
in the first half.
Damien Duff 5.0 ★ Flop of the Match
Struggled to make an impact on the game in the first half, often having to
sit back and help out Salcido in defence. Wasresponsible for City's second
goal as his poor clearance fell straight to Zabaleta who hit a shot that also
deflected off the Fulham player past Schwarzer.
Clint Dempsey 5.5
The American tried to link up with Andy Johnson up front but was often forced
to drop back into midfield to stop City.
Andy Johnson 6.0
Still trying to get back up to full fitness after a long absence out due to
injury, but still put in a shigt up front for Fulham. however was often
isolated up front and starved off good balls that he could run on to.
Substitutions:
Zoltán Gera 6.0
Came on as half time substitution replacing Damien DUff and gave Fulham more
creativity in midfield. Popped up with a neat finish from the edge of the box
to score a consolation goal for the home side.
Diomansy Kamara 5.5
Gave some support for Johnson up front when he replaced Etuhu but didnt
create anything of note.
Manchester City
Joe Hart 6.5
Was merely a spectator in the first half as the City attack ran rings around
Fulhams defence. but could nothing to prevent Fulham's consolation goal.
Pablo Zabaleta 7.0
The Uraguayan produced a stunning strike in the first half to score City's
second goal, hitting a right foot shot into the top right of the net giving
Schwarzer no chance. Also linked well down the right with Yaya Toure and
David Silva (原文Uraguayan是錯的 應該是Argentinian才對)
Kolo Toure 7.0
City's Mr Reliable hardly gave the Fulham attack a sniff at goal today. Made
a number of interceptions in the second as City looked to keep a clean sheet
away from home.
Aleksandar Kolarov 6.5
The left-back was one of City's quieter performers of the day, but still
managed, along with the rest of the defence, to keep the fulham attack at bay
for the majority of the match.
Gareth Barry 7.0
The ex Villa man produced another fine display as City bossed midfield. Wasa
key player throughout the game linking up with the defence and attack, making
some lovely threatening passes that gave Fulham's defenders problems.
Nigel De Jong 7.0
Gave the backline cover when needed and also gave the likes of David Silva,
Yaya Toure and Gareth Barry the licence to attack and cause Fulham's defence
problems.
Yaya Touré 7.5
Finally showing what he is capable of in the Premier League after in
different start to his first season in England. Scored the third goal for
City after a superb through ball by Tevez, hitting a shot low past Schwarzer,
his second of the season.
Jo 7.0
A Surprise inclusion in City's lineup today but his performance justified
Mancini's to start the Brazilian. Played alongside Tevez up front and always
provided an outlet when Tevez linked with the City midfield.
David Silva 8.0
Quite possibly covered every inch of grass on the pitch this afternoon. Often
sprouting on the left, right and through the middle, the Fulham defence could
not get near the Spaniard and looked a constant threat.
Carlos Tevez 9.0 ★ Top of the Match
The Argentinian produced a man of the match performance for City, scoring the
first and fourth goals while also setting up the third. Was too hot to handle
for the Fulham defence, managing to turnhis defender well for the opener and
provided a defence splitting pass to set up Yaya Toure.
