Roberto Mancini has claimed he will stop talking about missing out on Robin van Persie when his own strikers start scoring goals. Manchester City boss Mancini spoke recently of his regret that rivals United beat him to Van Persie's signature in the summer, claiming that the Dutch international could make the difference in this season's Barclays Premier League title race. But today Mancini said he would drop the subject of his own quartet of strike start scoring like they did last season. All smiles: Van Persie in training on Friday ahead of Manchester United's crunch clash with Liverpool Mancini said: 'I continue to talk about Van Persie and other strikers. 'But if we score two or three goals with our strikers I will stop. 'I hope we start to score with our strikers, this is very important for us. 'If (Edin) Dzeko, Carlos (Tevez), Sergio (Aguero) and Mario (Balotelli) continue to score, I think we can change this. Short of goals: But Balotelli, Dzeko and Tevez are all expected to be involved against Arsenal on Sunday 'For every striker maybe there are some moments where maybe you don't score, you don't know why, this is football. 'Last year we scored a lot of goals, maybe too many goals. 'This year we are missing maybe 15 goals from last year but it is important that Sergio, Carlos and Edin scored goals in the last two games.' Mancini is expected to pair Dzeko with Tevez at Arsenal this weekend with Balotelli on the bench. Aguero is still recovering from a hamstring strain and will not return until next weekend's home game with Fulham. Centre of attention: Mancini was speaking at his Friday morning press conference ahead of City's trip to the Emirates City will play at the Emirates on Sunday backed by only 2,100 away fans after 900 refused to come because of high ticket prices. Mancini is also missing players like Aguero, Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri and is aware that City haven't won at Arsenal in the league for more than 35 years. He added: 'To play against Arsenal in London is very, very difficult because they play very well there. 'But we changed many things last year and it is a time now to change this situation. 'Also it is difficult because we miss important players but we want to do a good job on Sunday. 'We are disappointed because we need our fans away. We have fantastic fans, fantastic support. We are sorry for this. 'I don't know the real situation. I read it in the newspaper. It is clear for us our fans are very important.'
