David de Gea and Edinson Cavani superb vs Roma
Man United have reached their first final in three years after beating Roma in
the Europa League and here are how the players rated.
David de Gea - 9 (香腸讚!
The scoreboard might as well have read 'Roma 0-0 De Gea' for the first 35
minutes. Made some superb saves to deny Roma any hope.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka - 6
Booked for an overzealous challenge but was lively in his half before he was
withdrawn at the pause.
Eric Bailly - 4 (.....
A predictably haphazard return on his first club game in nearly two months.
Conceded numerous fouls and nowhere near Edin Dzeko for the goal.
Harry Maguire - 5
Made some key clearances amid Roma's pressure but much has changed. He is now
much better next to Victor Lindelof.
Luke Shaw - 6
Not at his usual level and got caught out on one occasion but De Gea spared
him. Also taken off at half-time.
Donny van de Beek - 4
Shunted to the left as he was not performing in midfield and did not get much
better. Created a shot for Bruno Fernandes. That was about it.
Fred - 5
Assisted Edinson Cavani's first but regressed with his role in Bryan
Cristante's goal. Collected a booking as well.
Mason Greenwood - 6
Had two chances either side of the pause and should certainly have converted
the second. Will have benefited from the experience.
Bruno Fernandes - 7
Linked up well with Cavani before he crossed for the Uruguayan's second.
Offered invaluable respite in attack.
Paul Pogba - 5
Suffered from being removed from the left to accommodate Van de Beek.
Sacrificed for Nemanja Matic as United shored things up.
Edinson Cavani - 8 (還是要靠cavani!!
Should have scored before he made it 1-0 before half-time. Roma's defence were
an absolute dream to play against and he got a second.
Subs
Alex Telles - 4
Compromised United's defensive stability. A major downgrade on Shaw.
Brandon Williams - 4
A forgettable season included a particularly forgettable night. Under the cosh
at right-back.
Nemanja Matic - 5
Sent on to shield the back four but had his work cut out with Bailly behind
him.
Marcus Rashford - 6
Made little sense bringing him on at 2-2.
Juan Mata - 5
Cameoed.
Manager - 6
The team was strong enough, but Van de Beek compromised Pogba's impact and the
choice of half-time substitutions was counter-productive.
