今天真的有點不爽，結果就失眠到現在，沒事貼貼新聞分享一下好了 The Seattle time：Originally published Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 12:56 PM Mariners shuffle: send down Greg Hallman, release Jack Cust By Geoff Baker The Mariners looked to be preparing to add major-league veteran Wily Mo Pena to their roster by sending outfielder Greg Halman to Class AAA on Thursday. Seattle will announce a corresponding move Friday, and it's likely to be Pena, who was signed to a minor-league deal last week. In a separate move, the team also released veteran Jack Cust, who had been designated for assignment last week. One of the reasons the Mariners opted to start left-hander Charlie Furbush in Wednesday's game, rather than call up left-hander Anthony Vazquez from AAA, is because Vazquez was not on the 40-man roster. The Mariners currently have only 39 or 40 spots filled on the 40-man roster and by going with Furbush instead of Vazquez, they were able to keep that final spot open to add Pena. Pena, 29, hit .196 with a .717 on-base-plus-slugging percentage in 17 games with Arizona earlier this season. He hit five home runs and posted a .522 slugging percentage over that period and is expected to serve primarily as a designated hitter for Seattle — perhaps as a right-handed-hitting platoon partner with a left-handed batters Mike Carp and Adam Kennedy. Halman, 23, hit .230 in 30 games with the team since being called up from AAA two months ago. He had served as the team's backup center fielder, a role that will likely now fall to newcomer Casper Wells, acquired last week in a trade with the Detroit Tigers. The Mariners will also likely want to take a look at AAA center fielder Trayvon Robinson — acquired Sunday in the Erik Bedard trade — at some point soon.
