綜合美國各報的報導, 馬林魚是想將A. J.跟Lowell一起交易到金鶯隊去, 用意當然
是省錢, 而如果交易案中只有A. J. 的話, 那麼就會再考慮, 而金鶯隊也表示, 如果只有
A. J. 的話, 那一切都好談, 但是如果牽扯到Lowell, 那麼金鶯隊提出兩個條件
1) 馬林魚必須要吸收Sidney Ponson(2006年薪資為1000萬美金)
2) 馬林魚必須負擔Lowell接下來三年薪資2100萬美金的絕大部分, 據說約為1000萬美金
可以肯定的是, 馬林魚不想要 Sidney Ponson, 所以大家都在橋
而海盜隊隊這一項三方交易案, 一直都是興趣缺缺, 他們表示, 要吸收Lowell可以, 但是
Lowell的薪資他們可不想全都付(這應該就是金鶯隊所提出的第二項條件了)
Lowell如果這次交易案沒有被一起打包的話, 其他球隊應該也不會要他了
而馬林魚將會提出用A. J. Burnett加上Matt Perisho去交換金鶯隊的Jorge Julio,
Hayden Penn, 以及Steve Kline(感覺都是馬林魚賺)
不過如果Lowell沒有牽涉在A. J. 的交易當中的話, 馬林魚GM Larry Beinfest也會去找
白襪跟紅襪的GM喝杯下午茶吧

The Orioles' reluctance to take Lowell and any portion of his salary has
prompted the Marlins to begin looking elsewhere. Team officials spent the
better part of Wednesday working on a three-way deal involving the Red Sox
and Twins.
In that scenario,
the Marlins would have received pitchers Bronson Arroyo and Joe Mays.
Bill Mueller and prospects would have gone to the Twins ,
the Red Sox were set to get Lowell, Burnett and J.C. Romero.
另外, 馬林魚希望是Kyle Lohse 而不是Joe Mays
According to one American League source, by early evening the deal looked
like it was dead. The Sox aren't keen on taking Lowell, and the Marlins
aren't crazy about Mays.
"Boston doesn't have any interest in Lowell," one team executive said.
"Obviously [the Marlins] are not going to pay the whole thing. If he was
performing anywhere near the way he did the last few years, we'd consider it.
But he doesn't look like the same guy. In general, teams are saying they'd
have trouble taking him even with [the Marlins] paying most of it."
