With Rogers out of picture, Tigers seek out Willis

According to the Detroit Free Press, the Detroit Tigers and free agent
lefty Kenny Rogers have parted ways.
The Tigers wasted no time in seeking a replacement. Citing National League
sources, The Free-Press reported Detroit Tigers inquired about the
availability of Florida Marlins left-hander Dontrelle Willis this week.
The Tigers will have a hard times acquiring Willis. They would need to
assemble a package of young talent. However, their ability to do that has
been compromised by the trade of prospects Jair Jurrjens and Gorkys
Hernandez to Atlanta for shortstop Edgar Renteria.
