Curve: It's a separator for him, a power breaking ball that works
well.
Control: Problems with his delivery lead to inconsistent command.
Poise: He's pretty competitive on the mound.
Physical : Hand has a good body and is fairly physically mature.
There's not much physical upside and while he's strong,
there's not much looseness to his actions.
Medical Update: Healthy.
Strengths: A good body and overall strength; two at-least average
pitches.
Weaknesses: He's just a two-pitch guy and he's more of a thrower right
now than a pitcher. He's got some issues with his delivery
Summary: Hand, in scouting parlance, has had some helium as the
spring unfolded. A strong southpaw who's more of a thrower
than a pitcher right now, he does have a pretty good
heater and an excellent curve. His delivery will need some
work, but there's plenty of room for improvement once he
can find some repeatable mechanics. In a fairly weak high
school class, a southpaw with an arm like his is bound to
get plenty of attention.
