CHICAGO -- The Marlins were on their way to not only their 15th victory of
the season Friday afternoon, but also to ending a long, frustrating stretch
for their starting rotation.
週五下午馬林魚準備好要拿下第15勝，同時結束先發群冗長且挫折的連續13不勝。
Then, with the Cubs trailing 5-2, Ryan Theriot stepped to the plate and
changed all that with one swing.

With two outs and the bases loaded in the sixth, Theriot, a 5-11, 175-pound
light-hitting shortstop, got just enough of reliever Burke Badenhop's
fastball to give the Cubs the momentum, and the lead, in an 8-6 victory in
front of 38,306 at Wrigley Field.

(the last Marlins starter to win a game), despite a decent pitching
performance from rookie Graham Taylor.

The Marlins jumped on Harden early. They collected five hits in their first
10 at-bats and took a 3-0 lead on two-out, run-scoring singles by Jorge
Cantu and Bonifacio (his first RBI since April 11), and another RBI single
by Amezaga.

Harden, who had won back-to-back starts coming in and was looking to become

and four walks.

EARLY LEAD VANISHES
He pitched his way out of the game in the fourth, when, with a runner on
first and two outs, he walked Bonifacio, Cameron Maybin and Jeremy Hermida,
and plunked Cantu in the back.

But the Marlins' lead -- much like reliever Hayden Penn's footing -- would
not hold up.

inning by the Phillies on Sunday, started the sixth with a 5-2 lead.

He lasted just three batters, leaving the game when he mildly sprained his
right ankle attempting to back up third base on a throw.

His exit forced the Marlins to rush Badenhop quickly into the game with
runners on first and second and one out. Badenhop retired pinch-hitter Micah
Hoffpauir and then pitched around Alfonso Soriano before tossing a fat pitch
down the middle to Theriot.

The Marlins scored once in the ninth and brought Ramirez, who played for the
first time since injuring his right wrist Monday, to the plate with a runner
on second. But unlike Thursday's game, the Marlins weren't able to come up
with any late-inning magic.

Former Marlins closer Kevin Gregg recorded his second save of the season when
he got Ramirez to fly out to center.

''We just didn't get the outs we needed in the middle innings,'' manager
Fredi Gonzalez said.
