[情報] Florida Marlins lose top pinch-hitter Ross Gload to Phil
Marlins baseball operations president Larry Beinfest told Florida beat
writers last night that the team was hoping to sign free agent Ross Gload,
who was a top pinch-hitter for the Marlins in 2009. Hours later, word spread
through the lobby that Gload had agreed to a deal — with the Philadelphia
Phillies.
A lifetime .283 hitter, Gload hit .261 with six homers and 30 RBIs in 230
at-bats for the Marlins last season.
Meanwhile, the Marlins think so highly of pitcher Josh Johnson that they
reportedly rejected a trade offer from the Texas Rangers that would have sent
right-hander Neftali Feliz and first base prospect Justin Smoak to Florida.
The Marlins have no plans to trade Johnson or Ricky Nolasco.
And with two days left at the winter meetings, Dan Uggla is still a Marlin.
He apparently has fallen out of favor with the Giants. The Marlins are still
confident they can move him, but it may not happen this week.
