Several players and head coach Rick Carlisle were quick to praise Dirk
Nowitzki for what he did on a night when scoring was going to be difficult
for him.
Nowitzki finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
"He's having to play his game with an unusual awareness that they are
double-teaming him virtually everywhere on the court," Carlisle said. "He's
staying aggressive to get his shots and drive the ball when he can. A lot of
times he has to accept double teams and make the pass that leads to the pass.
He took a charge, had a lot of rebounds, he's been one of our best
communicators in the series offensively. You have to have great players that
have the patience and not get frustrated and make the right plays."
Kidd said he thought Nowitzki played well.
I think he just played the game," Kidd said. "He saw a lot of double teams
and triple teams and down the stretch we went to him and he made all the
right plays."
