Dirk indicated after the Olympics that he was done playing international ball
for a while. But it might not take long for him to change his mind.
Dirk was non-committal yesterday when asked whether he'd play for the German
national team this off-season.
"I kind of said last year that it's hard for me to imagine playing again
after the Olympic experience," Dirk said. "It was a blast there. It was
always a dream of mine. I made it to the Olympics. That was one of the
greatest times of my life.
"It's hard for me to imagine playing the European Championship now in Poland
and start all over again. I'll just have to wait and see. The good thing is
that it's not until September. By that team, knowing me, I'll probably be in
the gym for a couple months anyway."
Dirk doesn't have to ask for Mark Cuban's opinion on the issue. Cuban has
made it clear repeatedly over the years that he'd prefer his players pass on
international ball.
