Barea: I view Beaubois more as a Leandro Barbosa at this stage. He can play some minutes at the point, but he's more of a shooting guard. I don't know if next year is enough time for him to be regarded as the true backup point. Perimeter speed is essential in today's NBA. Beaubois has it. Whether he picks up on the nuances of the game will determine if he has a great impact moving forward than Barbosa. Barea is a more polished point guard at this point. He deserves the minutes. On whether Beaubois will get playoff minutes: Yes. The Mavericks need his speed and explosion. On which first-round playoff opponent would be the most advantageous for the Mavericks: The Mavericks should not lose to any team they face in the first round. That being said, San Antonio is always a scary matchup.
