COOK DEMOTED? Riley has been ''speaking openly'' to the media about sending rookie Daequan Cook to the Iowa Energy of the NBA Development League. ''I haven't really discussed it with him,'' Riley said. ``I'm thinking about it out loud, though.'' Cook has struggled with his shot, hitting just 22.7 percent (15 for 66) during the past 13 games. In that span, Cook also has five Did Not Play-Coaches Decisions -- including four in the Heat's past five games. ''I have hit the rookie wall,'' Cook said. ``It's just me bouncing back from that.'' Cook pointed to focus as his problem. Riley said the Shaquille O'Neal trade hurt because many of Cook's looks were spot-up shots off O'Neal passes. Cook, surprisingly, said he would welcome the move.
