Three the questions you might have wanted asked, with answers from Monday's
practice:
Q: So what's with Mark Blount getting only one rebound Saturday
against the Magic?
Coach Erik Spoelstra: "Our preparation was the guy who's guarding
(Dwight) Howard was responsible for keeping a body in front of him, and a lot
of times that's not going to be the rebounder. We wanted our other guys to come
in and really help with the rebounding."
Mark Blount: "I was trying to clothesline him out of bounds every
time, so I wasn't really worrying about that. I was trying to keep him away
from the ball as much as I can."
Q: For a supposed post-up presence, doesn't it seem that almost al
of Michael Beasley's offense has been initiated from the perimeter, or at least
the mid-post?
Spoelstra: "He's a good face-up shooter and driver. But if he gets
the right matchup, he can also back in a little bit. It's something we'll
continue to develop."
Beasley: "First of all, it's our offense. Most of our offense has
me in the 15-foot area. Playing against guys that are huge, I would rather face
'em up."
Q: Could Tuesday's home exhibition against Memphis finally mark
Dorell Wright's return to game action from last season's knee surgery?
Spoelstra: "He made it through the whole practice and at times he
looked fluid, and at times he looked fine. Other times, I could still see a
little bit of a limp in his gait."
Wright: "My Achilles was a little tender, just from this coming
back from zero to 100 with so much time off. I was limping a little bit, but
once it got warm, I was better. I want to play. I'm going to try."
