Believe it or not, hoops nation, the 2008-09 NBA season is less than 30 days away. To help you get through the final month, HOOPSWORLD is breaking down each of the 30 NBA teams in order of their records from last season - worst to first. However, in the back of their minds fans in Miami can't help but be somewhat worried about when Wade may pull-up lame again. In short, Wade has to stay healthy this season for the HEAT to have any chance of being a factor in the East next season. If Wade stays healthy, Shawn Marion performs at an All-Star level and rookie Michael Beasley is as NBA ready as some folks have said he is, Miami will be in the playoffs next season and could even compete for the division title. Wade looked amazing in China , but can he stay healthy all year? Beasley has the talent to win ROY , but will he behave on South Beach ? Look for Michael Beasley to fit right into the HEAT's up-tempo offense. The only way that changes is if Wade has an MVP caliber season and their younger players are ready to contribute consistently right away. Every year this guy's name is on the trading block, but he never ends up being moved. That's because the HEAT know they need him a lot more than anybody's letting on. Nobody in this year's crop of rookies is going to be more entertaining to watch. He's likely going to lead all rookies in scoring by quite a bit, but he's got a fun, outgoing personality as well. In all honesty, scoring should be one of their biggest strengths this season. They'll also be pretty good defensively with Marion, Wade, and Haslem anchoring things. It's hard to base much off last year since they had the worst record in the league, but in general fans should expect improvement in pretty much every category across the board. No team pulled down fewer rebounds per game last season than Miami , and only eight other teams allowed more rebounds per game. With Mark Blount and Joel Anthony as the team's centers, the reasoning behind that stat becomes less mysterious. As far offense is concerned, Miami was not only last in points scored last season (91.4 ppg), but were also 29th in point differential (-8.64) and 25th in team field goal percentage (44.3%). The Beezer is going to have to play D,rebound, and be our third option. I need Marcus Banks and Mario Chalmersto get the ball to the stars. My unproven bench is a concern, but JamesJones can be the leader of that group. I'll ride my star to the playoffs. Sources are starting to whisper that Miami thinks Mario Chalmers is the point guard of their future, but what if he isn't? What's left on the roster if he either doesn't work out or ends up injured? Marcus Banks has had a disappointing career and Chris Quinn will never be the starting point guard of an NBA champion.
