以下是當地的一位評論家(Diego)對於這件事寫的看法 The 6-foot-9, 245-pound forward out of Kansas State appears to be tailoring his game away from power and more towards the finesse side. While some feel that Beasley should not hastily run away from the potential of a power game, others like the versatility the 20-year-old is working on. I belong on the latter side of this debate. Beasley has a reliable jump shot, and should not move away from that part of his game. While Beasley cannot adequately defend opposing small forwards, he can be a part of the new breed of power forwards in the NBA that players like Antawn Jamison, Lamar Odom and Hedo Turkoglu have made up. None of those players would be exactly like Beasley, and he can become a very unique player if he becomes proficient at the skills he is working on. His ball-handling will help him when he is stationed on the perimeter. From there, Beasley can take some of the burlier power forwards off the dribble and finish at the hoop. He can also have a legitimate post-up game to take care of smaller defenders. This would be very similar to what Carmelo Anthony displayed this post-season: the ability to slash to the hoop and post-up defenders. Now, Beasley is nowhere near as quick as Anthony or even Jamison. But if Beasley is going to be a power forward, that shouldn't cause too many problems. He will still be able to have his way with the majority of power forwards in this League. Hell, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra can always set a screen for Beasley on the perimeter as he goes to the hoop. It's worked for Turkoglu, who is slower than Beasley. Paul Pierce was never the quickest guy on the court, but he won the 2008 NBA Finals MVP primarily on his ability to get to the hoop. Beasley's lack of strength could be detrimental on the defensive end. But if the 2008 No. 2 pick continues to work on his defensive positioning, he will not give up that much on that end of the floor. Beasley can front his man to prevent the entry pass -- and that would be a viable option occasionally, now knowing that shot-blocker Jermaine O'Neal is down low. He cannot let opposing power forwards get deep position in the post and must hold his ground. Another area of defense Beasley should work on is his shot-blocking. The talented forward has big hands and arms, which will serve him well at the four. Riley Not Leaving Miami Heat President Pat Riley vehemently refuted a New York Daily News blog post linking him to a still-occupied Cleveland Cavaliers coaching position. It appears Riley will be with the Heat organization for a while, as there are no traces of the controversy surrounding his departures from the L.A. Lakers and the New York Knicks. ※ 引述《zenwu (橘子)》之銘言: : Interesting interview posted at the Heat's website with Michael Beasley, with : the forward discussing his offseason workout plans and pursuits. : Two questions, in particular, and their responses catch your eye. : Heat: Are there any areas of your game you're working on this summer? : Beasley: "I'm working on the things a shooting guard or a small forward would : work on. I do a lot of screen work, a lot of jump shots, and ball handling, a : lot of stuff point guards do. I know I may never play the one or two, but I : feel if I work on those skills, it will be harder to guard me. I do a lot of : stuff that Chauncey Billups does. I think he's the best point guard in the NBA, : especially coming off screens. Why not try to emulate that? I feel like if I : can add that to my game, I will be a tougher matchup." : Heat: Because you do play a lot of power forward, are you planning on putting : on more weight? : Beasley: "I'm fine with my weight. I'm going to stay thin. I'm already : undersized, so if I can't move, I can't play my game. I want to focus on being : quicker at my position." : So is that it? Didn't Erik Spoelstra speak last season about how Michael was : going to fill into his body? Wasn't the "power" part of power forward supposed : to be the given? : There is plenty to be said about being versatile, honing perimeter skills. The : effort is laudable. But there also is plenty to be said about having enough : bulk to finish at the rim, or over the rim, absorb contact and have the : strength to persevere. : The perimeter skills are already there. Giving up on the power game, the muscle : game would be a shame -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.228.104.15
