The event will be part of the TNT's All-Star Saturday coverage that begins at
8 p.m. Feb. 25.
The Heat now will have one-third of their roster at All-Star Weekend, when
also counting the participation of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh
in the Feb. 26 All-Star Game at the Amway Center.
In addition to Jones and Kapono, previous Heat champions in the event are
Glen Rice and Daequan Cook. In fact, Jon Sundvold currently stands as the
only Heat player ever to participate in the event and not win it at least
once.
Chalmers has the second-highest total of 3-pointers among the players
selected for the competition, with 57, behind the 80 of Orlando's Anderson,
with his .463 percentage the highest among those in the field.
Jones, who has been used sparingly this season, has converted only 19
3-pointers, but his .404 percentage is higher than that of Love and Johnson.
