The Miami Heat have invited center Hassan Whiteside to work out with the team, according to a tweet from Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Despite the workout with Miami, the 7-footer is also interested in signing with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Whiteside has made 19 NBA appearances during a two-year career with the Sacramento Kings, averaging 1.5 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. The Kings drafted the shot-blocking Whiteside out of Marshall in the second round of the 2010 NBA draft. Whiteside was released by the Kings in July after they signed guard Aaron Brooks .
