Was there ever anything there? 傳說中你要去Ducati廠隊跑WSBK? A Yeah, there was. They had pretty much given me the facts. I flew over just before Germany, Sachsenring race. I flew over a day early and went to Bologna and had a meeting with the guys. 今年德國站前我去了Bologna一趟 Pretty much, we were, I would say, in the ballpark. Pretty much agreed on most things. Nothing was signed, we just kind of ... I am my own manager, so it was pretty easy to sit there. They felt me out, I felt them out. Pretty quickly agreed on a bunch of numbers, term of contract and that kind of stuff. Nothing written down on paper, but just kind of, hey. They had said, "We don't know if we're staying." They told me up front, "Don't count on us. We might not stay. We would like to stay. But they needed some rules tinkered around with. Obviously that fell through, and they just said, "Screw it. What did you think, and what do you think now, after you've had some time to think about it? 你在賽季結束後試過Moto2的車你的感想是? A I felt like a monkey on a football on that thing. It felt quite a bit smaller, for sure. A smaller stature rider, I think, would be a lot more comfortable on that thing. When I say "smaller," under 5'7", 5'8", you'll probably get along with it all right. I wasn't going out there to set the world on fire. I wasn't even going out there trying to get a lap time. I was just going out there to get a balance. That was what we had. We had Takahashi, who had a real soft front end, and we had DeRosa out there with a real hard front end. Springs completely opposite of one another. We thought, "Man, there's something. Sure the riding styles are different, but at least they need a baseline." That weight shift, that transfer, that grunt, torque, you don't have that, so you don't have all that weight shift, so all that perfect bike setting, it really doesn't have to be 100% perfect. 重點是 Moto2實在太沒力了沒有重心轉移沒有扭力 You can ride around a lot of that. The main thing was in the front end chatter, which happens on all those bikes. And a lot of that's to do with the engine. 其他問題還有前叉抖動 Those 600s, hell, as soon as you chop the throttle, you would think a parachute has blown out the back of you, slowing you down. I kept going in waiting for the rear to come around. It leaned, because it just feels like you stamping on the rear brake. The thing is, as soon as you get off the front brake, you've just got to pick it up. You've got to catch the throttle as soon as you can. Where you had chatter a lot before, you won't have chatter any more. But we found a pretty good balance, I think. A I had a hard time. Obviously I've been riding on the latest, greatest, best sh*t since sliced bread for how long, and ... you just don't know. That's the biggest problem. You downshift, little blip of the throttle, let your clutch out, but then you don't know if it's engaged or disengaged. And then you go to roll a little bit of throttle on and then, "Rrrmmmmm," it'll catch up to itself and it's pulling. But man, you get a bit of sphincter overload occasionally, because I just didn't know. I think that happened to a lot of the riders. You could see through the beginning of the season, some of the guys that couldn't get it, they got it mid-season, and then they started going good. But that's just getting rid of that sphincter overload issue and being confident with it. 拉離合器降檔補一下油放離合器我不曉得到底離合器接合了沒有直到再補一點油門之後它才會真正的接合這會造成你括約肌緊張因為你完全不曉得動力何時才會銜接上你可以看到在季初很多人為此困擾直到季中才適應但問題並沒有解決他們只是克服了想挫賽的衝動而已 Q And it goes without saying that, let's just say, you were not born to be a 600 rider. 所以... 你並不適合騎600cc的車? A Oh, no. Hell, no. I know I wasn't. I was never meant to be a 600 rider. 我從來就不是一個適合600cc的車手 Q Didn't you ride an FZ600 in practice, a Yamaha once, a long time ago? I can't remember where. 可是你很早以前不是在練習時間騎過一台FZ600? A You know, I did. I rode Larry Schwarzbach's, or a teammate to him. I forget what it was, in Laguna, maybe, in '92. I did that and the 250 in the same year at Laguna. 1992年在Laguna Seca我試騎過別人的FZ600 同一時間我也在試250cc的車 And then I think in '94, when that new YZF600 came out, we raced it one time at Daytona, just to give it a little boost. I was, you know. When racing a one-time thing, you get out on the banking and four guys would come by you, and I was like, "Nah." I haven't admitted this to a lot of people, but I may as well come out with it. Yeah, Barcelona this year, actually. I was sitting like second in qualifying and just did a ... I knew I did this ...I can't go any faster. I hit everything, did everything perfect, and came in, I was second on the grid. Grabbed the last tire and went out, I couldn't go any faster. Next thing you know I was tenth or eleventh or whatever it was on the grid. With five minutes to go. I came in and I was pissed off. So I smashed my helmet on the ground. I forgot to let go of it. [Laughing] And the reverb through the chin bar kind of rebounded, let's say, and kind of tweaked my thumb a little bit. Man, that thing took ... it still hurts a little bit if I grab something wrong. It never really affected me on the bike at all. Throttle, brake. But if I grab something, a Coke can, the wrong way, or whatever, it hurts. So I'm sure I chipped a little bone or jacked up the socket or something in there. But you know. We've all done dumb sh*t, and that was my latest dumb thing. 我還沒跟很多人講這件事今年在巴塞隆納排位賽時我圈速第二快我知道那是完美的一圈我進pit換最後一套胎但再也做不出更快的速度還剩五分鐘時我回pit 排位掉到10幾我氣到拿安全帽往地上砸可是我忘了鬆手安全帽的顎帶在彈起來的時候拉到我的大姆指現在我拿東西的方式錯誤時就會有些疼痛但這不會影響我騎車我也許打到了骨頭或是關結...你知道的我們都做過一些蠢事而這一件是我最近做過的....
