I can remember a time when it wasn't that way, to say the least. WSBK像工廠生產線一樣的把Ben Spies跟Cal Crutchlow推到MotoGP來我記億中以前不會像這樣 A Yeah. It's ... you know, again, I don't know what to say to not get in trouble. I hope Cal's ... it seems like a really nice guy, and he's a good rider. But Ben Spies is Ben Spies. And I don't see another Ben Spies out there at the moment. The kid is really fast. And he's got some good guys around him, with Tom Houseworth and Greg "Woody" Wood and the group that he has. And Cal, I wish the best for him. I'll help him out as much as I can. Is that profound? Is that an important or obscure fact? His head has never been inside a 990. It's always been an 800. He went 250 to 800. 羅99是第一個沒有騎過990的MotoGP冠軍你認為這是一個重要或是可以忽略的事實? A We could talk about it all day long. But you ask my opinion, you could've put him on a Hayabusa, and he's still going to go fast. I don't really think it matters if it was an 800, a 990 or a 1400. The kid's going to be ... he's fast. You follow him, and he's just fast. He's always fast. He goes to the track, and I mean they tinker around with it. But we always find out his settings. We always know what his settings are, being the sister team. They're nothing that much different than, what he found that worked, he just kind of keeps it around that area and adapts himself to the bike. He'll go out and run ten, twelve laps, come in, "Okay, don't change anything, I've almost got it." Go back out, run another ten laps, "Okay, all good, let's roll." 就我所知老實跟你說從找車子的設定來講我們其實跟廠隊沒有什麼差別最後的設定也差不多但當他找到了一個感覺不錯的設定稍微調整一下後他會出去一口氣跑個10圈 12圈讓自己去適應車子會去休息一下後在用同樣設定跑個10圈打完收工! Q Do you think that the riders who only know 800s are going to struggle when MotoGP makes the move to 1000s, or won't it matter? 你認為只騎過800的車手轉換到1000cc時會有困難嘛? A I don't think it'll matter. I think that'll be more seamless. Going from 800 up to 1000 is ... I don't think is going to be a real big issue. To answer your question, I don't think that's going to be a real big problem. I think the problem will be, is if they decide ... which hopefully they decide ... to take all the electronics off the bike. That would be awesome. But I don't know if they'll ever do that. "Yeah, but all I really have to do is concentrate on braking and getting in deep, getting it turned, because once I turn the throttle, it kind of does everything for me." A I'm running out now, building this damn boot camp. 自從我開始蓋我的賽車學校後手頭就滿緊的了 (笑) [Laughing] All my sponsors are different. You look at Arai, Sidi, Spidi, they all pay different. Might be four times a year, might be six times a year. Yamaha and Herve, three or four checks a year and you're done. You come back to the US several times during the season, right? Other than that, everything's pretty close here in Texas. It's motor home or here. That's really it. And that's ... my wife used to come with me everywhere. We didn't have any kids. We were free for all, do whatever we wanted to do. And now we've got three kids and school, and you know. Just life. They're all very fluent in English, and I never really had any need, you know, as when I went over on the Italian team in '95, not that many guys spoke English, so I had to learn Italian. Q Valentino Rossi, your old teammate, goes to Ducati. What do you think? 你的老隊友Rossi現在到了Ducati 你有什麼看法? A I think it's going to be interesting. I mean, I'd never bet against him, and I'd never bet against Ducati. I say Valentino, but that whole crew. JB, and Alex, and all the guys that he has working around him. I would never bet against them. But it's going to be different. I followed him at the test, and he looks smooth, and looks good, and riding it like you would the Yamaha. He looked exactly the same. Bike was a different color. But you know, that thing can be ... I've never seen that Ducati ridden like a Yamaha, let's say that. It's always a little more squirmy and moving around a lot more than the Yamahas are. I think your dad told me once that it was there that you really realized the potential that he had as a rider, when you two went there together. But seeing - knowing that he's riding the exact same bike that you're on, and going as fast and faster, then yeah, definitely, yeah, it starts to put it in perspective, for sure. That's true. And he crashed after, I don't know, ten or eleven laps. "Oh, man, this is endurance racing, not a crash-fest." A Generally I'm probably the first guy that is asleep on the couch. [Laughing] Only because I don't eat so much normally. I'm not - I'm a guy that, I might only eat half a plate of food. When I'm full, I'm done. I don't feel like I have to keep eating.
