the record of 34 points set by Kenny Anderson in 1990.

Kobe Bean Bryant, one of the greatest basketball players ever, is born in
Philadelphia.
Bryant grows up to become a five-time NBA champion, two-time finals MVP,
16-time All-Star, 11-time NBA first-team selection, along with being named
most valuable player in 2008 and leading the league in scoring in 2006 and
2007.
He is fourth in career points with 31,700, ahead of Hall of Famers like Wilt
Chamberlain and Julius Erving and trailing only Michael Jordan, Karl Malone
and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
