The Nuggets missed the playoffs for the first time since 2003 and would like to keep the absence at just one year. That’s why they’re chasing Minnesota Timberwolves’ power Kevin Love, using swingman Wilson Chandler, forward Kenneth Faried and the 11th-overall pick in the first round of this week’s draft as bait. They also have their own free agents to worry about. One of those potential free agents’ return is no longer a question mark. According to Sam Amick of The USA Today, Robinson will exercise his option worth $2.1 million and return to the Nuggets season. Robinson hoped to cash in after an excellent year with the Chicago Bulls filling in for the injured Derrick Rose in the 2012-2013, but had to settle of a two-year deal. Robinson may have opted to test the market again this year if not for a torn ACL that limited him to 44 games last season. Robinson averaged 10.4 points, 2.5 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 0.8 steals in 19.7 minutes per game. He shot 42.8% from the field, 37.7% from beyond the arc and 83.5% from the free throw line. Robinson was selected with the 21st-overall pick in the first round of the 2005 draft by the Phoenix Suns, but was dealt to the New York Knicks. He has also played for the Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors.
